I am super excited to be back! After taking a pause from the podcast back in March, I’m returning to share what's been happening behind the scenes over the summer, how I’m restructuring my business to avoid burnout, and what defining your own version of success actually looks like.
This Mum Loves Tech turns three on the 5th of September, and I’m proud of what I have achieved in that time. However, at the start of 2026 I didn’t feel successful despite people telling me that I was. So I took some time to ask myself: Why? And to define what success looked like for me.
When I started This Mum Loves Tech three years ago after my eldest started school, it wasn't because I was a born entrepreneur wanting to build an empire. I started this business to contribute to my household bills while having the total flexibility to be there for my boys during the school holidays without relying on constant holiday clubs.
Achieving My Big 2026 Goal
At the start of 2026, I set myself a very specific goal: a successful year to me would mean working just one day a week during the school holidays while still bringing in enough income to cover the school holidays as well.
I'm so happy to share that over this most recent summer holidays, I worked only seven days! We may not have gone on a holiday abroad, because we can’t afford that yet, but we made memories going on days out to the zoo, beach, and farm. If I can continue this till the end of the year, then I will be happy to say that I am successful.
Choosing Simplification Over Scaling
Earlier this year, I attended a sales training day where people got really excited about the idea of me building a team of "This Mum Loves Tech" trainers. Sitting on a delayed train home, I realised that wasn't what I wanted at all. I love getting on 1-to-1 calls, sharing screens, and helping online business owners solve their tech puzzles directly. I don’t want to manage a team; I’ve done that in my past corporate life and found you lose the actual doing of the work yourself, which is my favourite part.
With the help of Fern Fuller, who is brilliant, Business Coach for Over Worked Founders (connect with Fern on LinkedIn here), we looked at how I was managing my diary. I realised I was booking client calls back-to-back because I was overselling the availability I actually have. So we dived into one of my favourite tools, my Google Calendar and took my colour coding up a level. Pre-planning in breaks so my booking system only showed the call times I want rather than opening up my whole day. Giving myself some breathing space in my week without sacrificing income or client results.
Why I've Paused My Online Courses
You might also notice a shift in how you can work with me going forward. For the rest of this year, I am pausing my pre-recorded online courses.
Tech moves so fast, especially at the moment. By the time you record, edit, host, and launch a video course, the platforms have often updated, leading to confusion when someone logs in and tries to follow along. While courses work brilliantly for industries that don't change as quickly (like fitness or mindset), tech needs real-time support. Moving forward, I am focusing purely on live 1-to-1 support and my weekly membership live group calls, where I can show you exactly what a tool looks like right now.
Four Simple Ways to Work Together
I’ve structured the business so that everything fits around the school terms. That means I can be here for my boys during the holidays, and it gives you a really clear, predictable way to get the tech support you need.
1. The Membership (£30/month)
The membership is the most cost-effective way to get ongoing tech help from me. Every week, I host a live Q&A call on Google Meet where whoever turns up can jump on, share their screen, and show me where they're stuck so we can fix it together. You also get access to monthly masterclasses from both me and guest experts covering strategy, sales, and mindset. It’s £30 a month, you can cancel at any time, and it means the tech support is there in your back pocket whenever you need it.

2. One-Off Tech Calls (1-Hour or 3-Hours)
If you just have a single job you want sorted, you can book a one-off call with me. These are great for specific tasks like setting up Google Workspace, switching email providers, getting your TidyCal booking system connected, or getting an email sequence working properly. We get on a call, set it up together, and I send you the recording afterwards so you have it to look back on.

3. Tech School (Full-Term Hybrid Programme)
Tech School is my main programme. It runs in line with the three school terms (September to December, January to April, and Easter to summer). It’s a mix of 1-to-1 tech support sessions with me but part of a small group of six people for accountability and support. You get monthly 1-hour calls, a dedicated 3-hour build session to get big jobs done (like setting up a new website page or a lead magnet), and a private WhatsApp group where you can ask questions and get feedback from others going through the exact same tech journey.

4. Community & Connection Live
This is my annual in-person event. I created it because I wanted a day where online business owners could actually meet, talk, and take action in the room rather than just sitting through back-to-back presentations.
