From Tech Overwhelm to Empowerment
A year ago, I launched the This Mum Loves Tech membership, making it my mission to make tech feel less overwhelming and more empowering for female business owners. What started as a small library of masterclass replays and the occasional Q&A call has grown into a supportive hub of weekly calls, expert guest masterclasses, and a warm community of women cheering each other on.
As I look back on the first year, I’m blown away by the progress my members have made. From sending their first newsletters to confidently handling tools that once terrified them, the transformation has been incredible.
How This Mum Love Tech Began
When I first started my business, I never planned to start This Mum Loves Tech and for it to become a membership. It all started in 2023, I was juggling life with two little boys and slowly carving out a business that fitted around family life. What I quickly realised was that while I loved tech, most of the brilliant business women I was surrounding by with didn’t. They felt overwhelmed, stuck, and their business progress was suffering because of it.
That’s why in September 2024, I opened the doors to the membership. At the time, it cost just £9 a month and offered access to replays of my free masterclasses, plus space to jump on a Zoom call with me to get niggly tech questions sorted. Fast forward twelve months, and it’s become so much more: weekly support calls, monthly guest masterclasses, a growing resource library, and most importantly a community of amazing female business owners who are all on this online business journey together.
Weekly Tech Support
Have you ever been working on a project and got completely stuck? You know that moment when you just need to ask someone, “What do I click next?” That’s exactly what the weekly tech support calls are designed for.
Instead of losing hours down a Google rabbit hole, members can bring their questions straight to me. Whether it’s questions on MailerLite, Google Workspace, Canva, WordPress websites or other tech in their business toolkit, we solve those niggly tech issues in real-time.

“Being part of Nicola’s membership has been a really good decision for me. It’s a great little community, and I make use of the Q&A calls most weeks. I always have one or two tech questions that have been driving me crazy, and Nicola sorts them out of me directly on the call. Super useful!”

Progress with the Tech in Your Business
Tech doesn’t just support your business, it helps you move forward. Often, members join with an idea or dream they’ve been putting off because the tech felt too scary. One of the best parts of this membership is seeing those dreams become reality.
Take newsletters, for example. For many business owners, email marketing feels overwhelming. But with the right support, it suddenly feels possible and it such a powerful tool for connections and sales.
“Deciding to become a member of Nicola’s tech membership at the end of last year has been so worthwhile for me. I can generally be very nervous around tech and Nicola’s warm, friendly and patient approach makes it easier to understand. It feels like Nicola is holding my metaphorical hand and guiding me. I’ve been able to start sending my monthly newsletter thanks to her encouragement and expertise which seemed impossible for such a long time.”

It’s Lonely Being a Business Owner
Running a business from home can be lonely, especially when you’re trying to figure things out by yourself. That’s why the community element of the membership is so special.
Inside the membership, women don’t just get answers to tech questions, they find a network of like-minded business owners who celebrate wins, brainstorm new ideas, and provide encouragement on the tougher days.

“I’ve been a member of This Mum Loves Tech for almost a year now, and Nicola really does make tech understandable and usable. Her masterclasses and Q&A sessions are packed with helpful content, and if Nicola doesn’t know something, she knows someone who does. With boundless patience, she answers every question, no matter how ‘daft’ it may seem.
Even better: the weekly support and welcoming community feel more like a cosy tech hug than a membership. Nicola covers everything from email marketing and automations to WordPress, Canva, Pinterest, and making booking/payment systems work – always with practical, affordable tools.”

Support for Technophobes
Not everyone loves tech (and that’s exactly why I do what I do!). Many women join the membership feeling like “technophobes” and worry they’ll never get their head around the tools they need.
But with step-by-step explanations, no-judgement support, and a safe space to ask any question, they soon realise they don’t need to figure it all out alone.
“I joined Nicola – This Mum Loves Tech membership because I’m a bit of a technophobe. I’m so glad I did! The weekly calls have been so helpful to get answers on those niggly things you just can’t solve! The Facebook group is also helpful to post a question you might have. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.”

What’s Next for the Membership?
Just like tech itself, the membership never stands still. As we enter year two, I’m introducing quarterly themes (such as websites and social media), so we can dive deep and make real progress without the overwhelm.
There will also be dedicated accountability sessions, time set aside to actually get things done together. Because learning is important, but implementation is where the magic and progress really happens.
A Huge Thank You
To every woman who has joined, shown up to a call, asked a question, or cheered someone else on, thank you. This membership wouldn’t be what it is without you.
If you’re reading this and wondering if the membership could help you too, the doors open at the start of each quarter. Whether you’re struggling to get your email list off the ground, want your website to finally look professional, or simply need a safe space to ask, “why on earth isn’t this working?” I’d love to welcome you in.
