Looking Back: 2025, The Year of Creation
If I had to sum up 2025 in a single word, it would be creation. It was a massive year of building out offers, testing new ideas, and discovering what tech support small business owners actually need. From launching the podcast in January to evolving the membership with weekly tech support calls and themed quarters, the focus was on getting the foundations in place.
I also spent a lot of time refining free resources like the Time Saving Tech Checklist and the Email Marketing Made Easy guide to help people get started without a huge financial investment. While I’m proud of publishing 38 episodes this year, it wasn’t always easy; I had to learn the hard way that while I’m a great planner, I sometimes forgot to factor in the actual time it takes to do the work!
Lessons Learned: Why “Done With You” is the Way Forward
One of the biggest lessons I’m taking from 2025 is that “done with you” support is far more empowering than “done for you” services. When someone else does your tech for you, you don’t learn how to maintain it, which creates a stressful dependency.
Through my Tech School, I’ve seen ladies move entire websites from Wix to WordPress in just a month. Because they did the work alongside me, they now have the confidence to make their own updates. Tech shouldn’t drain your time; it should save it. If it isn’t saving you time, it’s either the wrong tool or you just haven’t learned how to use it yet.
Moving Forward: 2026, The Year of Connection
While 2025 was about building, 2026 is about refining and connecting. My word for the year is Connection. After a year of intense creation that often meant working until 1 a.m., I’m ready to move away from the frantic building phase and focus on deepening my relationships with my community.
Here is what you can expect from This Mum Loves Tech in the coming year:
- My First In-Person Event (30th June 2026): I’ve seen how important in-person connections became in 2025, and I want to provide that for our community. This event will be a celebration of everything we’ve built online, giving you a chance to meet others in person and leave with established connections. The day will include lunch, a goody bag, and even a professional headshot taken by Siobhan Johns. 👉 Get on the waitlist to hear more about the June Event.
- Self-Study Courses for Success: I have moved Ignite Your Email List to a self-study course because I want it to be affordable and manageable. I’ve broken it down into small, bite-sized videos, some just a few minutes long so you can complete a specific task and see results quickly. And in 2026 the new Google Workspace Starter Kit will be released as well. These courses also include a free month in the membership so you aren’t stuck doing it alone. 👉 Start Ignite Your Email List (Self-Study).
- Tech School: High-Level “Done With You” Support: Tech School is my signature offer for those ready for big projects like building websites, funnels, or memberships. I’ve seen students move entire websites from Wix to WordPress in just a month because we work through the layout and tech together. Doors open again in March for anyone who wants that deep, supported learning experience. 👉 Follow me on Instagram for Tech School updates.
- Open Membership Year-Round: I’ve decided to keep the This Mum Loves Tech Membership open all year in 2026. If you need tech support right now, you shouldn’t have to wait for a “launch” window. For £30 a month, you get weekly tech support calls and themed quarters—like our Q1 focus on Social Media updates with guest experts. 👉 Join the Membership for £30/month.
If you want to hear more about the journey that led me here, you can listen or watch Episode 3: My Story. I’m so grateful to have you as part of this community as we move into this big year together.
No matter where you are in your business journey, remember that you don’t have to figure out tech on your own. Whether it’s through my free Facebook group or my 1-to-1 support, there is a way to make tech work for you without the stress.
